is in the affordable care act we have a mandate that the employer is supposed to pay healthcare coverage or pay the difference. that's just a start. i don't think walmart should in effect be the largest recipient of public assistance in the country. in state after state after state walmart employees represent the largest group of medicaid recipients and largest group of food stamp recipients. we shouldn't have to bear that burden. we should put it on walmart. >> cenk: walmart, as congressman grayson is saying, winds up being the biggest taker of government subsidies in some of these programs. but the six heirs had a have more money than 40% of the country combined. that is amazing. congressman grayson. they came up with this idea. if you increase wages to $25,000 for the average walmart worker, they say $21,000 but we think it's lower but give them the benefit of the doubt right? that would increase costs to us of $20 per year for the consumer. $20 per year does not seem like a lot for the average customers. here is the result. it would lift 1.5 million out of poverty, create $100,000 new jobs

: great question. i have not engaged with the health-care industry at all regarding that. that is something that needs to be considered. there is a lot of movement toward standardized medical records and the information sharing of medical data. therein lies the issue that you stated innovation to the -- in relation to the tax returns. i put a lot of information out about myself. how does that impact and what if it gets hacked? it is not a fun thing to think about and it is not something that people want to happen. it would cost billions of dollars should that occur. i do not know what the health- care industry is doing. i can say that on the irs side of the house. i did speak with a couple of irs folks a defcon. we met with some folks and i have spoken with colleagues of mine. i know there are protections. one of the other administrations was hacked in the last few months. the department of navy had a bunch of social security numbers hacked and mine was one of them. if this is going to jump the fence and go into health care medical records, more needs to be done. more edu

in healthcare, when the retail clinics, these minute type clinics that appeared in cvs and walgreens and so forth came up, very early on they set very rigorous metrics for what a quality member in their association would look like which created some certainty that state regulators could allow them in to say, hey, we're going to get better outcomes in these variety of health indicators. we'll not treat these health conditions over here. we don't promise that we do that. we don't attack that problem. by doing that, getting together and defining that, it allowed them to go up. what is interesting, john bailey wrote a piece for the collection we've done together where in other sectors the suspicion of for-profits isn't really present from government dollars. it is interesting in energy, health care, space questions, we routinely contract and use federal dollars to work with for-profit providers and no one really thinks about whether it is an issue or not. my guess is that is partially something about a notion of innocent children but also partially pause we haven't had these big efforts to step
